Cheshire Blades ‘Challengers’ were formed in 2011 for Assisted Needs children aged between 4 and 18. It is the ambition of the section ’to give every child the opportunity to be the best that they can be’.
The section is led by Rob Dutton and Jordan Foster (Jay) and supported by 3 other coaches with the appropriate DBS safeguarding checks. All coaches are experienced and competent to deliver sessions in a FUN, safe and understanding environment. [FA level 1 coaching badge and disability coaching] no disability or condition is excluded and we endeavour to cater for all. The sessions use the appropriate coaching techniques to focus on improving Respect, Confidence, Self-esteem, Communication, Motor Skills alongside the fundamental skills for football.
The teams have the opportunity to compete in a monthly tournament in the Cheshire FA ‘Ability Counts’ league at U12 and U16 age groups with a view to transition into the next age appropriate group. The teams also compete in ad hoc tournaments throughout the season against teams of similar ability.
Anyone interested or requiring further information please contact the club asking for Rob Dutton of the ‘Challengers’ to respond.
